| In conjunction with the release of the 2010 movie "Iron Man 2", Marvel Comics brought out a series of children's picture books. "Iron Man 2: Iron Man Fights Back" is a simplified retelling of that portion of the movie in which an Iron Man suit is "borrowed" by the US Air Force and is turned into a deadly drone by a weapons maker. It includes the sequence in which Tony Stark's buddy Rhodey gets back control of his War Machine suit, and he and Iron Man take on an army of enemy drones. The vocabulary is suitable to beginning readers; the illustrations are exciting but should be non-threatening to young readers.
The cover art shows Iron Man and War Machine as seen in "Iron Man 2." The actual picture book illustrations are in comic art form. "Iron Man 2: Iron Man Fights Back" is recommended to parents with children who might be interested in the movie and learning to read. |
