| Children will love the story of Emmalina, the rebel fairy who loves to play in the swamp with frogs, unlike her dainty flower fairy peers. Will Emmelina be able to earn her fairy wings? Does her protective care of the frogs' baby tadpoles constitute a valuable skill, something that could earn her wings? Despite Emmalina's unusual interest in frogs, she is encouraged by the fairy queen to find what she is good at and pursue it, so she does. Emmalina becomes the Mud Fairy! "The Mud Fairy" is a wonderful tale for all children who have fears of never fitting in, always being messy and different and last to finish, etc. The dainty illustrations underline the tale's poignant moral: Be true to yourself.
