| PreS–Dressing a squirmy toddler can be hard work, especially one who says, ME! as he dons each new piece of clothing. The results are, of course, silly, in this fun take on a fairly common topic. Patient up to a point, Dad finally takes over (Now its getting late, so when the big hand is on the six and the little hand is on the seven…Daddy says, ME!) And then its on to breakfast…. Savadiers skillfully rendered watercolors use thick, supple lines and soft colors set against lots of white space. | My little girl loves this book. As a toddler entering the "do it myself" stage, she (and we, her parents) appreciate this book's theme. She quickly picked up on the repetetive phrase, "Me!", making this an early participatory reading experience for her. We sometimes talk about the main characters, Solomon and his dad, as we struggle to get dressed and out the door in the morning! |
