| As a church librarian, it's difficult to find books to use during story time that express values and Biblical truths but also tell a great story (OK, obviously minus the real stuff in the Bible). It's also difficult to keep a little boy's attention during story time. Owen's Walk has a great tone, you can just see Owen headed home and hear "mimi" guiding him. It's a wonderful adventure, and I believe it will work well being read aloud. The illustrations really bring the story to life, I especially liked the fold out map, the illustrations of the contents of Owen's backpack and the Bible verses matched up with the "signs."
Great book. A great way to express to children how God equips us each step of the way. |
