I would highly recommend this book . It was a joy to read it to my 4 year old. The bible verses are wonderful. My Husband and I were both impressed with it's creativity in explaining what Christ did for us at Easter. The little girl in the story represents us, lost and unsaved, her father is our Holy Father, the forgotton bulb she throws away is Christ, which comes back to life. Refering to the store of the Lily, my little girl said, "Mommy thats' just like Jesus"! It made me feel so good that she understands. Get it for you little one and God Bless.

《 the parable of the lily》
《the parable of the lily》讲述了小女孩maggie生活在平静的乡村，非常渴望得到礼物。在经过等待之后，抱着激动的心情打开了一个匿名的包裹，没想到收到的是一箱子土（a crate of dirt）.magie非常失望，而她的父亲看到女儿失望的神情自己也非常难过，因为这个礼物是他送的（the gift had come from him）.
Maggie把按照礼物上的字条把它放到漆黑的地下室（cellar），但从此后再也没管过，没浇过水，但是父亲却从没有忘记过。
Spring came at last,Maggie marched down the cellar but dumped the forgotten crate.（春天来了，maggie跑到地下室，但是却碰倒了那一个被遗忘的箱子），土撒了一地，maggie快发疯了。（maggie mad at the crate and even mad at herself）.她清理完，把所有的土扔到了花园旁边。再也不想它，直到、、、、、、、
一天早上，maggie早早起床，想准备找些花朵装饰今天，因为今天是复活节。可是maggie不敢相信自己的眼睛，花园旁边居然开满了漂亮的百合花。Maggie顿时明白了一切。她跑到父亲那里,紧紧抱住他，说“I;m sorry,can you forgive me?”而爸爸拥抱着女儿，说“that’s what easter all about”。
这本书的绘图采用了温暖柔和的色调，非常符合本文的意境，有趣的是本书中小狗的表情也随着主人公的情绪变化而有不同的表情。如果这本书送给一些不理解父母苦心的孩子，相信也会引起孩子们反思。由于本书的有不少的生僻单词，和一些成熟的句型结构，所以这本书我推荐给新概念学到48课以后的孩子看。
