| PreSchool-Grade 1-Featuring babies in sea-animal costumes, this book has a creative blending of modern computer technology and old-fashioned photographic skill, while adding interactive search-and-find games. The text starts with a vibrant orange starfish/baby on the beach, and, on each page, children are given clues as to the identity of the next creature. "Go and ask some shellfish with pinchy little red claws if you want to find the treasure in the sea." Some purists may question the inclusion of a mermaid, but kids won't. They will shout the stanzas out loud, find the snorkeled baby in each photograph, and try to guess the name of the next animal that will lead them to the treasure. The smiling, plushly costumed babies loom in the foreground of the lush, densely colored, ocean scenes. Despite the considerable bulk of the outfits, they look perfectly happy, a clear tribute to the photographer's remarkable skill.
