Foreign Customer Review / 国外客户评价: |
Backbeard the pirate needs a new job. He got into this conundrum when the Pirate Council kicked him out for his insistence on dressing with flair and walking about with a pig rather than parrot on his shoulder. But Backbeard enjoyed wearing stylish clothes, so leave the pirate trade he did. Unfortunately the fishmonger and the blacksmith do not hire him since his qualifications are not well suited for the job. The stinky, brawny ex-pirate does not give up, and he ultimately finds employment in, of all places, a tearoom.
Well shiver me timbers! This uproarious book not only has a clever surprise ending, it also serves as a good vehicle for emphasizing some important concepts in economics related to human resources and searching for jobs. Backbeard's resume on the back cover is a hoot, as is this pirate's willingness to forego his swashbuckling on the high seas for the sake of fashion and style. Backbeard: Pirate for Hire is a unique book that fits well in any children's book booty. |
