| Gonzo is so excited about show and tell that he pushes his cousin Gander out of the way as he rushes to brush his teeth, he takes the stack of pancakes meant for his aunt, he pushes to the front of the line to get on the bus... and he keeps behaving badly all day, right up to bed time! His grandmother asks him how he'd like it if no one had good manners and Gonzo says that might even be fun, but when he falls asleep and into a dream where no one DOES have good manners, Gonzo finds that it isn't fun at all. On the last page is a short lesson about manners.
The Muppet Babies are great for helping children to learn, since they're children themselves. The story in told in simple words that beginning readers won't have too much trouble with and it's a good length for reading out loud, too. The illustrations are fun and colorful, though slightly less vivid than I've come to expect from Muppet Babies books. The lesson about manners is one that's worth sharing.
