The brightly colored, cartoon creatures are appealing. The book can be shared as a story, used for counting practice, or serve as a basis for more challenging math activities. | Monster Math picnic is a good book for the beginning reader. My son's school does an "AR" or "advanced reading" program and this book is in that program. My 1st grade son loved reading about the monsters and then how each picture added up to ten; he could combine his reading and math skills. |
