Step-by-step, they follow a checklist: invite friends, get pumpkins, decorate, set up games, make snacks, and get costumes. Although the book is billed as a "Level 1, Getting Started" reader, some words ("invite," "decorate," "costumes") are outside the range of the target audience. However, the colorful full- and double-page illustrations provide abundant clues for early readers. The story of two friends cooperating to plan a project is an upbeat addition to holiday selections. |
