| I started reading this to my son when he turned 2, and at first, he was only interested in the illustration that had a fan depicted. I would read the first 1-2 pages of the book, and he would quickly flip over to his favorite page and then we were done with the book. However, I used to read it to him every day and soon he progressed to actually letting me read the entire story to him. I think this book did a good job of holding his attention and even increasing it a little! We have since moved on to books with more content per page, but this book still remains one of his favorites (the other is goodnight moon- if I had a penny .....I would be a millionaire)
I recommend the entire series of "If you give a ..." books by the same author to parents of 2-3 year olds who are beginning to foray into the world of story-books. This is perfect for the transition from picture books to stories. |

Book™ series, including The Chicken Sisters and Laura Numeroff's 10-Step Guide To Living With Your Monster. She lives in Los Angeles, California, where she loves to ride horses and read biographies.
