Overview /
Wet foot. Dry foot. Low foot. High foot. Early readers will enjoy marching in time to the beat of many, many feet with Dr. Seuss' fun exploration of opposites. With his unique combination of hilarious stories, zany pictures and riotous rhymes, Dr. Seuss has been delighting young children and helping them learn to read for over fifty years. Creator of the wonderfully anarchic Cat in the Hat, and ranking among the UK's top ten favourite children's authors, Seuss is firmly established as a global best-seller, with nearly half a million books sold worldwide. This delightful book forms part of the third stage in HarperCollins' major Dr. Seuss rebrand programme. With the relaunch of six more titles in January 2004, such all-time favourites as The Lorax, The Foot Book and Yertle the Turtle now boast bright new covers that incorporate much needed guidance on reading levels: Blue Back Books are for parents to share with young children, Green Back Books are for budding readers to tackle on their own, and Yellow Back Books are for older, more fluent readers to enjoy. The Foot Book belongs to the Blue Back Book range. |
From Organization /
The Foot Book is a quintessentially Seussian classic. Left feet, right feet, slow feet, quick feet, even fuzzy fur feet make their way into Dr. Seuss's "wacky book of opposites." And with the fun flaps and peel-off stickers of this interactive version, yet another generation of fans will become mesmerized by the fancy footwork of this beloved, quirky author. As a tribute to the diverse and multifaceted world of feet, this big board book rejoices in all kinds of feet, especially those showcasing the concept of opposites: "His feet / Her feet," "Up feet / Down feet," "Wet foot / Dry foot." This adaptation has all the brightness and zany charm of the original, with the added delight of flaps to lift and a whole plethora of foot-happy stickers to attach and peel off the pages, again and again.
This is not as wildly imaginative as some other Seuss works, but it IS an excellent book for the beginning reader! It has only 47 words in its 27 pages and includes important vocabulary builders for toddlers and above. Simple adjectives, prepositions, and pronouns predominate. The repetition and presenting of word groups make this an excellent tool for reading.
Since it won't help reading if it's not read, the book contains the fabulous characters and silly situations for which Seuss is known. With big, slightly zany illustrations, this is highly recommended for adults or kids to read to each other!

About the Author /
"A person's a person, no matter how small," Theodor Seuss Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss, would say. "Children want the same things we want. To laugh, to be challenged, to be entertained and delighted."
Brilliant, playful, and always respectful of children, Dr. Seuss charmed his way into the consciousness of four generations of youngsters and parents. In the process, he helped millions of kids learn to read.
Dr. Seuss was born Theodor Geisel in Springfield, Massachusetts, on March 2, 1904. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1925, he went to Oxford University, intending to acquire a doctorate in literature. At Oxford, Geisel met Helen Palmer, whom he wed in 1927. Upon his return to America later that year, Geisel published cartoons and humorous articles for Judge, the leading humor magazine in America at that time. His cartoons also appeared in major magazines such as Life, Vanity Fair, and Liberty. Geisel gained national exposure when he won an advertising contract for an insecticide called Flit. He coined the phrase, "Quick, Henry, the Flit!" which became a popular expression.
Geisel published his first children's book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, in 1937, after 27 publishers rejected it.
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1984, an Academy Award, three Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards, and three Caldecott Honors, Geisel wrote and illustrated 44 books. While Theodor Geisel died on September 24, 1991, Dr. Seuss lives on, inspiring generations of children of all ages to explore the joys of reading. |

Grey car,red car,how many cars meet you? 我们一起发现找各种各样的车,一起编了“Bus"\"car"\"truck"的各种句子 up buses,down buses into the tunnel,out of the tunnel climb the brige,slide the brige stop buses/run buses …… |
